Ice cream scoop

I have a new favorite baking tool. For some reason I had the urge to bake tonight, so I decided on some chocolate chip cookies. I used an ice cream scoop to put the dough on the sheet. It worked great. It was very easy, not messy at all and the cookies look fantastic. I have read about this before but never had the right kind of ice cream scoop. My mother-in-law, Joyce, got me one for Christmas and this is the first time I've tried it and I love it! So, there you have it. Try it out if you've never done it before and let me know what you think.

I've never used an ice cream scoop but I have a "cookie scoop" that works in pretty much the same way. My parents' neighbor who loves to bake got it for us as part of the gift for our wedding. It looks like a double or triple tablespoon measuring spoon with a flexible bottom to it (the bottom of the bowl part). You are supposed to be able to scoop the cookie dough and then push it out using the flexible part but it only works some of the time. If the dough is too sticky, it doesn't work. It works best with ice box cookie dough (like the store bought logs or tubs of cookie dough). You are right that the cookies look just like the ones on the package! I will have to try an ice cream scoop for regular cookie dough :) What kind of ice cream scoop is it?
